She is the creative director for original content and commercial studio, All is Well, where she writes and directs for major brands.
In 2014, Lael wrote and directed the narrative short, COLLISION, which premiered at the 2015 National Film Festival of Talented Youth in their closing night program highlighting the best female filmmakers of the festival. COLLISION screened at film festivals nationally and was featured on King 5 and in the Seattle Times. Lael was awarded the 2014 Juneau Arts and Humanities Council Individual Artist award for her work on the film and was a featured panelist for Seattle’s Women in Film. In 2016, Lael directed episodes 1-3 of the online comedy series, NORTHERN BELLES, which Seattle CityArts Magazine called “goofy, good-hearted, and… the show Seattle needs and deserves right now.” NORTHERN BELLES screened at the 2016 Independent Television and Film Festival and won an audience award at the 2017 National Film Festival for Talented Youth.
Her latest short film is I SEE THROUGH YOU, a 1970s period feminist sci-fi about beauty standards. The film premiered at the 2018 Seattle International Film Festival and has screened across the United States at Hollyshorts Film Festival, Tacoma International Festival, BendFilm Festival, Portland International Film Festival, Cucalorus Festival, and Sound Unseen Film + Music Festival.
